Wattlebridge Wattlebridge has been an important place in the areas history. It is just south of the village of Newtownbutler and just a short spin up the road from Derrykerrib. The name is thought to be derived from the type of bridge that first crossed the River Finn at this point, although no actual townland exists in this name.
Wattlebridge was one of the stopping stages on the main coach road from Dublin to Enniskillen. The Druid's Temple is situated on the hill above Wattlebridge Orange Hall in the townland of Annaghmore Glebe. Castle Saunderson can be seen from the bridge, as can the remains of the tower of the old Church of St.Marys.
